September 5, 2016 – Key Underwood Memorial Coon Dog Cemetery Labor Day Celebration, 4945 Coondog Cemetery Road, Cherokee

Mon. 10 am – 4 pm.  The first Coon Dog (Troop) was buried 1937.  Over 300 graves are freshly decorated for the event. Music, buck dancing, liar’s contest.  BBQ and drinks available.

September 29 & 30 October 1 & 2,  2016 – Agnes of God, The Ritz Theatre, 111 W. 3rd St., Sheffield.  At a convent, fragile, unearthly Sister Agnes gives birth, but the child dies and Agnes retains no memory of the event. The police soon are involved because of the death of the baby. However, the main conflict is between Mother Superior Miriam Ruth, who wants Agnes left alone, and Dr. Martha Livingston, a psychiatrist determined to help Agnes gain a stronger grasp on reality and uncover any wrongdoers.  Performances on Sept. 29, 30, Oct. 1 at 7:35 p.m., Sunday Oct. 2 at 2: 05 p.m.  For information and tickets visit www.tvaa.net or call 256-383-0533.
