This regional art center is a venue for cultural activities. Galleries provide annual and rotating exhibits and workshops for adults and children. The permanent exhibition of the Martin Petroglyph, a 3,000 pound boulder with carvings completed by prehistoric people, is displayed in a replicated bluff shelter setting. The Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts is an educational facility, museum, and center for coordinating and promoting cultural activity in Florence. It is a home base and meeting place for cultural groups and a showcase and classroom for all arts disciplines. The center features annual exhibits and rotating exhibits by arts from the Southeast, workshops, and classes for all ages, concerts, and interesting lectures and programs.

Built in 1927, this former silent movie house was renovated in 1985, preserving the original 1930s art deco interior. The theatre is now home to a vibrant community performing arts program (also used for concerts, movies, and special presentations).
