In 1978 Muscle Shoals Sound Studios moved here from its original location at 3614 Jackson Highway in Sheffield and the “Swampers” continued to record hits there for 25 years. Recording artists included many of the same artists who had recorded at the Jackson Highway studio as well as countless others. Some of these artists included John Prine, Julian Lennon, Delbert McClinton, Glenn Frey of the Eagles, The Oak Ridge Boys to name a few. This studio was sold to its current owner in 2005 and renamed Cypress Moon Studios. A performance venue has been added to this commodious building and it is used regularly for events, concerts, and plays.
