April 14, 2019 – Wildflower Hike at Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve, 251 Loop Road, Tuscumbia. This hike is led by Charles Rose with times from 1-5 p.m. This is a moderately rigorous hike. The exact route is indeterminate at this time, but a 5-mile hike with a 300 ft. elevation change is to be expected. Blooming wildflowers on this date will include the rare French’s Shooting Star, native Azaleas, Yellow Ladies Slipper and much more. The Preserve includes waterfalls such as the 60-ft. “Big Waterfall”, scenic vistas, flower-strewn boulders and cascading creeks. Bring water, snacks and wear hiking boots.
